Aluminum couplings corrode in humid, washdown, chemical and saltwater environments. In those cases switch to 304 stainless steel couplings — corrosion-resistant, easy to clean, contamination-resistant.
304 is the most common stainless for food and general industry, resisting most fresh water, cleaners and mild chemicals. For continuous saltwater or marine immersion, ask about 316 options.
